Summer Updates

July 08, 2015 Joe S

We've been working hard to add new bars, restaurants, and liquor stores to the Brennivín family.  Look for us at Astor Wines, Aquavit, Death & Co, and The Up & Up in Manhattan, and Duke's Liquor Box in Brooklyn. If you are in San Francisco you can now find Brennivín at Mollie Stone's Markets in the Bay Area. Outside of Boston the crew at Ceia Kitchen + Bar are doing amazing things.  And in Portland Oregon, find Brennivín at Angel Face, Shift Drinks, Broder Nord, and Expatriate. Where can I buy Brennivin?

April 04, 2015 Joe S

By far the number one question we are asked is "Where can I buy Brennivin?" The short answer is to check out our regularly updated list here. But if you live in a state where Brennivin is not yet available, hope is not lost. We have a few retail partners that might be able to help you out. East Coast: DrinkUpNY Mountain States: The Liquor Store of Jackson Hole West Coast: K&L Wines More to come. Kær kveðja, Joe

February Fun & A Little Contest - Answered

March 06, 2015 Joe S

UPDATE: The correct answer to the question of the cans below is Ora Beans. Ora is a very famous brand of canned beans in Iceland. Of course, we think opening up a can of "Airtail 2015" cocktails might be a little more fun than beans. Our mini-Thorrablot (the traditional Icelandic mid-winter celebration) in Seattle on the 21st of February at Rob Roy was a huge success, and we're pretty excited to get right back on the road for the Icelandic Association of Northern California's Thorrablot coming up on March 7th. Details here. Watch our blog or our Twitter feed @brennivinusa...

Portland, Oregon Update (Updated) and a Brennivin Question Answered

January 29, 2015 Joe S

Not only is Icelandair beginning direct service between PDX and Reykjavik this spring, but now you can purchase Brennivín in Portland (and throughout Oregon) as well. Brennivín is available as a special order through any state liquor store in Oregon, or stop by Fenrir in Portland for a drink. Update: Brennivín is now also on offer at Multnomah Whiskey Library 1124 SW Alder St. in Portland. We've gotten a bunch of emails asking "What herbs are used to make Brennivin?" The answer might surprise you. Caraway. 100% caraway. Caraway and only caraway!
